Criosfera by Artemide is not simply a lamp, but a powerful symbol that carries an urgent message.Its concept, designed by Giulia Foscari UNA / UNLESS , is directly inspired by the Criosfera (Cryosphere) , the set of frozen components of the Earth System which, like a data archive, preserves the climatic history of our planet. Just like an ice core extracted from the depths of Antarctica, this suspension lamp becomes an element that generates awareness. Criosfera is a synthesis of high optical, material, and scientific knowledge, a true manifesto of values suspended between the present and the future.

The uniqueness of artisanal blown glass.

The true essence of Criosfera lies in its exceptional materiality.The lighting body is made up of a sophisticated stratification of blown and recycled glass, a design detail that visually evokes the stratification of polar ice . The uniqueness of each single piece is guaranteed by artisanal processing. During the production process, special engravings are impressed into the still-hot glass, before the final blowing. This technique gives the glass thickness a deliberately wavy and irregular appearance, making every Criosfera lamp a unique specimen.

Pure light and integrated technology.

Inside this glass structure with an organic aesthetic, technology disappears from view. The external cylinder serves as a precious shell for an innovative optoelectronic motor, designed to vanish completely without projecting visible shadows. Criosfera uses an advanced optical core that exploits the refractive nature of its surface to efficiently maximize light diffusion. The result is a high-performance, high-quality luminous flux, capable of providing comfortable light and enhancing any environment with an unmistakable scenic presence.
