Piero Lissoni signs the Piuma armchair, one of the products more revolutionary and enterprising in the evolution of the technologies and the materials used by Kartell.
Behind the essential design of Piuma, there are two years of intense research to enforce the use of an innovative mixture: a complex thermoplastic polymer loaded with many fibres among which the carbon that gives great mechanical rigidity united to an elevated lightness.
Kartell has succeeded in bringing the seat to the minimum thickness (maximum 2 mm) to have as result a ultra light seat (just 2,2 kg).
It is the first time that a material containing carbon fibres is injection moulded, for more for an aesthetical product and of design. Thanks to this innovative mix of materials, Piuma is not only light and thin, but also incredibly resistant, flexible, proper for the outdoor use and stackable.
