DescriptionJoy Zanotta is a modular bookshelf design by Achille Castiglioni in 1989, winner of the Compasso d’Oro award in 1991. Joy is part of the permeant collection of the Fondazione Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain in Paris and of the Museum of Art in Indianapolis. The bookshelf Joy Zanotta recalls the circularity of a spiral staircase and it’s made of a central cylinder in varnished steel around which 5 or 7 shelves are settled. The shelves are 360° rotating around the central element.
The shelves are made in MDF with steel internal angular elements to reinforce the structure, the scratchproof embossed painting realized in white, black, Bordeaux or petrol. The junction are made in black steel for the black, Bordeaux and petrol version and in white steel for the white version.
Joy Zanotta perfectly adapt everywhere, both in classic than contemporary places and can be settle near the wall, in the corner or even at the centre of the room, as bookshelf, séparé, equipped wall or as TV furniture, bathroom furniture or in the bedroom.
A function item fully customizable as it is possible to choose to place side by side one or more shelves to diversify the shape and the dimensions of this furniture.
