Generic is the name of the family of chairs by the essential features, arisen from the intention of the designer of identifying "generic" ideotypes for public spaces: an ideal return, at stylistic level, of the real essence of functionality as project basis. The chair Generic A (Administration) refers to the world of offices, while the chair Generic C (Caffè) refers to places of entertainment like bars, restaurants and public places. By the collection Generic Kartell, Philippe Starck expresses his concept of return to the real essence of the objects, their function.
